What's the most important thing that makes a faire successful? People. Of course you need patrons, performers, vendors and a faire board but you also need volunteers and workers.
Volunteers and workers get lots of the light and heavy lifting done. Workers are essential to faires. I have met many of these wonderful people. They deserve tons of gratitude and tons of company!
If you want your nearby faire to keep being successful, if you want to be part of something bigger, if you want to keep bringing joy to patrons, if you want a months-long feeling of faire, if you want to be on the inside track, contact the faire owners and let them know you want to help.
It's the beginning of a new year. Now is the time to gather some friends and decide to help bring a taste of the Renaissance to the public. You will be most welcome and most appreciated!
You can visit the faire's website or Book of Faces page to let them know you are interested. Also, here are a couple of volunteer pages if you would like to help in the region around northeast Oklahoma or help in northeast Texas:
I can ensure that you will have a great time at this event. Good music, jousting and great vendors abound! Huzzah!

This podcast with Dan Zielinski of the Jenks Planetarium discusses how many people in the Medieval & Renaissance times depended on tracking the stars to survive.
Have you heard of Copernicus? His contribution to earth is discussed as well. He was definitely a rebel who feared for his life due to his discovery.
I hope that you enjoy it.
I plan to bring more NEW content to my podcast this month as well as over the summer.

I interviewed Tina Nettles in my 3rd podcast. Her YouTube channel is called "Thorny Nettles". This is the link to the videos she made promoting the former King's Medieval Faire: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYa1k0w-wMc&list=PLcbBgYZwoN_QqFPm6Vm8yp5yTC59ZujEM
All of the performers gracious enough to let me play their music have their own FB page, website or can be found on music sites like Apple Music. If you can't locate 1 that you like, please send me a message. ENJOY!
